In Search of the Colour of the Sky
During a stay at the Danish Art Workshops, the extensive documentation from ‘Atlas of the Blue of the Sky’ was translated into tangible weaves. Dyeing with natural indigo, a technique which Trolle learned during a study tour to Japan, and with industrial Remazol dye, produced silk and wool in a detailed colour scale. The countless shades of blue turned into physical textures and structures, woven on both an analogue and a digital loom. Several of her pieces form the basis of the exhibition in the gallery at Bagsværd Church.
During a residency at the Danish Art Workshops, Helle Rude Trolle translated the extensive documentation from the project ‘Atlas of the Blue of the Sky’ into physical woven pieces on the digital and the analogue loom.
